Monday, 13 August is a day to remember for a Cape Town homeless couple who have been living together on the streets for 30 years.
This is because the couple, Llewellyn Jeneker and Cecilia Absolom, finally formalised their marriage in a fairytale wedding, Daily Voice reports.
A local pastor conducted the heartwarming ceremony that over 100 guests, many of the also homeless, attended. It was held at the newly established Culemborg Safe Space.
Cecelia donned an eye-popping wedding gown and Llewellyn sported an equally dapper groom's suit. They both looked as happy as any newlywed couple.
The dashing bride said:
Oh, the great day has come - marriage. He (Llewellyn) is sweet. When I saw the dress the first day, it stole my heart.
Llewellyn also couldn't hide his absolute joy:
What happened today is that I feel almost like a new person, because I have this long-time girlfriend with whom I had walked all these years, and today I legally wed her.
The lovebirds have had two children. However, one of them passed away. Luckily, their 12-year-old son was there to witness their big day.
