A father and his son in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, have been hailed as heroes after they foiled an armed robbery.
According to Southlands Sun, three alleged robbers followed the unnamed dad and his son from the bank to their home.
They then allegedly held up the two and made off with cash they had withdrawn from the bank, Briefly.co.za understands.
The father, who is a policeman, and his son, who works with PT Alarms security company, bravely pursued the alleged robbers.
A shootout ensued and one robber sustained a shoulder wound while another one managed to escape. The third suspect was apprehended.
PT Alarms spokesperson, Je-Shona Singh, said only R5,000 of the stolen R25,000 was recovered. Onlookers at the scene reportedly helped themselves to the rest and disappeared.
Fortunately, the dad-son duo did not sustain injuries in the chase and shootout. The incident happened in the Wentworth area.
