- Kaizer Chiefs have recalled Lorenzo Gordinho from Bloemfontein Celtics to the club to help fix their leaky defence
- The Amakhosi defence has been disappointing since the start of the season conceding goals in every league match
- The loan spell at Celtic has been less than rosy for the 24 year old Gordinho who has had to continuously play under a cloud of uncertainty regarding his remuneration.
Kaizer Chiefs have finally recalled centre back Lorenzo Gordinho to the club. The club's woeful defence has been a thorn in the flesh for coach Giovanni Solinas. The coach has been unable to find the right combination amongst his centre backs of, Eric Mathoho, Siyabonga Ngezana, Danel Cardoso and Teenage Hadebe who is yet to play this season.
According to goal.com the club's fans have singled out Daniel Cardoso for criticism gainst Mamelodi Sundowns, Cardoso misjudged the ball in the air and dragged Jeremy Brockie down to give away a penalty, while against Bidvest Wits, he got turned in the middle of the pitch and allowed Gift Motupa to slot past Khune. He then let the ball drop behind him before heading it into his own net against Baroka - three mistakes in three successive league matches.
Briefly.co.za has gathered that apart from the need to boost the defence Celtic has been affected by internal problems which have adversely affected Gordinho's salary. Thus Chiefs are keen to fix that problem as the player is still contracted to them.
