Not too long ago, the world reported the death of former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan.
According to reports, the former UN boss passed away at the age of 80 years after a short illness in Switzerland.
In a statement announcing his death, the Kofi Annan Foundation described him as a "global statesman and deeply committed internationalist who fought throughout his life for a fairer and more peaceful world".
Many Ghanaians who have learnt of the passing of the top diplomat have taken to their social media handles to mourn the prestigious Ghanaian.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has also taken to his Facebook handle to mourn the passing of Kofi Annan
Award-winning journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas took to Twitter to mourn Kofi Annan with, "Deeply saddened by the death of Kofi Annan. He's always been a constant inspiration for us to go further and reach higher."
Top news websites like the BBC and Reuters have all confirmed and reported on the passing of the statesman.
Award-winning journalist and TV show host, Nana Aba Anamoah took to Twitter to eulogize the former UN chief with, "Dear God, bless us with long fruitful, meaningful lives like you did for Kofi Annan."
TV and radio personality, Joselyn Dumas also added her voice after hearing the sad news with a post which read, "To live is to choose. But to choose well, you must know who you are and what you stand for, where you want to go and why you want to get there. - Kofi Annan. Rest In Peace sir. You’ll forever remain in our hearts"
Sports journalist Saddick Sports Obama wrote, "Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has passed away in Switzerland this morning, according to Starrfmonline..RIP Sir "
The alma mater of the UN Chief, Mfanstipim, also eulogized the top Ghanaian with the post, " Sad day for Africa & the World. Ghana has indeed lost an icon. Kofi Annan lived a life worth celebrating. A true inspiration to millions around the world, a man of peace & class. And the greatest champion of the Mfantsipim dream. God keep your soul Sir"
