It never rains but pours for former North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo. After being ousted as Premier and later resigning as a member of the North west Provincial legislature, branches in the province want his executive disbanded. Mahumapelo was booed as he got onto the stage at a meeting of of branch‚ regional and provincial leaders called by the party's national working committee (NWC) in Rustenburg on Sunday. Songs denouncing him and calling from his removal could be heard at the Civic Centre.
Supra Mahumapelo has been at the centre of many political storms and it remains to be seen how the National Working Committee will proceed regarding the situation. Briefly.co.za learnt that the disbanding of the Mahumapelo led executive could only be looked into if all the four branches submitted reports calling for the disbandment. The decision will then rest with the National Working Committee based on the status of the reports.
