Police successfully nab 6th suspect for the hijacking of Dumi Masilela

- The actor was fatally shot in 2017 during a hijacking

- Police have made their final arrest in the case

- The court trial will be held in October where all five will appear together for the first time

Actor, Dumisani Masilela was killed in a hijacking gone wrong back in 2017 and the last suspect in the case has finally been arrested.

The suspect was arrested on Friday and he is the last of six suspects responsible for the murder of the actor.

Briefly.co.za learned that the suspect will make an appearance in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court for the first time on Monday.

After his day in court, he will join his reported collaborators for the trial in October.

The Sowetan Live reports that the police were able to identify and link all six of the suspects to various crimes, one of which is Dumisani’s murder.

Four of the suspects charged with murder were arrested shortly after the incident, however the fifth was killed during a robbery.

Gauteng’s Provincial Commissioner of Police, Lieutenant-General Deliwe de Lange congratulated the investigators who managed to connect all of the cases and made the arrests as promptly as possible.

The six men attempted to hijack Dumisani’s car in Tembisa South, but he was shot during the struggle. He later died from his injuries.

His wife, Simz Ngema has recently opened up on how she has been coping with her loss as it nears the first anniversary of his death.

She has mentioned that she felt vulnerable during her grieving process because the country was watching her during this time. She also felt that she had not been given the chance to mourn in private, but she has done her best to get through.
