- The men allege it is two female friends who wanted to make fun of them not realising the full implications of their actions
What began as a small prank has now gone viral and left the lives of two men in danger. The two men from Bonteheuwel, Moegsien Lee, 24, and Ismaeel Jacobs, 22, are now believed to be kidnappers after two female friends circulated a post with their pictures on WhatsApp alleging they were abducting children and selling them for R5 000. The post soon spread and was posted on Facebook pages.
The prank sparked an instant reaction as the community was baying for blood of the two thinking their kids were not safe. They had to live in hiding and people kept asking them about the post. Briefly.co.za gathered that the two girls were remorseful about their post and said it was a joke. According to the iol.co.za, the mother of one of the girls said, “It was a joke, they did not think it will go so big. The four of them are friends and they apologised. They won’t do it again,” It has emerged that if anything happens to the two men the ladies who originated the post could be charged for inciting violence.
