Trevor Noah announced on social media he will be joining the stellar line-up of hosts at the Global Citizen Festival that's to be held in South Africa but fans didn't react too warmly to how he announced it.
The Global Citizen Festival is a charity event and South African-born funnyman Trevor Noah will co-host the event along with other fabulous celebs on 2 December. The event takes place at the Johannesburg FNB Stadium.
Forest Whitaker, Bonang Matheba, Gayle King, Tyler Perry, Naomi Campbell and Bob Geldof are the other hosts. Oprah Winfrey is also expected to give a special keynote address.
South Africans were annoyed at the way Trevor made his announcement on Tuesday and didn't hesitate to tell him as much.
South Africa! I’ll be back Dec 2nd, hosting the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100!
One tweep remembered that Trevor previously cancelled an appearance for health reasons and made a not-so-subtle reference to it.
