- Samuel, Solomon and Bathande are crowd pullers at shopping malls
- This is because of their gravity-defying feats of floating in the air
- Samuel said they make a living out of their performances
A talented trio is a crowd puller at various shopping malls in Johannesburg because of their gravity-defying feats of floating in the air.
35-year-old Samuel Mokati, his 26-year-old brother Solomon, and 23-year-old Bathande Satsha earn a living from their performances.
The three performers have dubbed their act the "Matrix Show," Daily Sun reports. It is the brainchild of Samuel, who is from Golden Gardens in the Vaal.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Samuel said he first began performing as a live human statue along the streets back in 2006.
He subsequently discovered floating after conducting research on the internet. To his pleasant surprise, it pulled more crowds than his original act, Briefly.co.za learned.
Solomon and Bathande joined him later after they lost their jobs. Together, they take kids' breaths away with their performances.
Asked about the secret to floating, Samuel said he couldn't reveal it, "Otherwise everyone will do it and that will be the end for us."
Samuel said their main challenge is lack of trust from mall managers sometimes. The trio performs mostly over the weekends and on month ends.
Samuel's original ambition was to become an actor, but he's just as happy with his current gigs.
