Nomsa Buthelezi made the courageous decision to live her truth. The talented and super bubbly personality revealed to the public that she is gay.

A weight was lifted from Nomsa that day and for the first time ever, she was able to show her partner off to the world, reported Times Live.

As any proud significant other would, Nomsa took to social media to show-off her partner, Zandile, and wish her a happy birthday.

The words in her caption were truly beautiful. You feel the love, freedom and pride when reading them.

Briefly.co.za learnt that Nomsa stated that her and Zandile’s relationship is still pretty fresh, six months to be exact, but she is completely smitten nonetheless. "In this moment, I am so happy. She makes me happy,” Nomsa said.

She also said that her being gay has not been a huge secret; it just has not been something that she has shouted from the rooftops until now.

The whole dating a girl thing is nothing new to her. She has been doing it for over two years now and known that she was gay a lot longer.

The incredible OPW presenter highlighted the important role that her parent’s unconditional love and support had in her living her truth. They told her to “be free to be who you are and love who you love.'"

Friends and family had never judged her, but Nomsa saw how other gay people were treated, especially someone in the public eye, and it was that, that held her back for so long.

As it is women’s month, Nomsa saw this as the perfect opportunity to live her truth and to encourage other women to do the same. Be you and be proud of it!
