Tweeps recently worked together to learn the identity of a man who went on a racist rant. A video made by the man himself has him voicing his gratitude for not being around black people and it went viral. The EFF called for help in finding and identifying the man and tweeps did not disappoint.
Adam Catzavelos - a man whose name is on the lips of many South Africans after his video went viral earlier this week.
Adam was enjoying his time on a Greek beach and filmed himself saying as much. Then he insinuated that he was in heaven on earth because there were no black people to be found.
South Africans were outraged at his casual racism, speaking as if it was nothing to use the k-word.
Adam probably regrets what he did because he has since been fired from his job at his father's business and received tons of negative attention.
Nedbank and Nike have also publicly distanced themselves from Adam. Adam's wife works at Nike but they distanced themselves from the video and made it clear he doesn't work for them.
Adam was part of the Nedbank-sponsored Business Accelerator Programme on 702 in 2014 and both parties condemned his behaviour.
Briefly.co.za reported that the EFF laid criminal charges against Adam. They give the police until 5pm on Thursday to arrest Adam or they will picket at the Bramley police station.
