Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has confirmed that Andriamirado Andrianarimanana better known to fans as Dax will not be making his debut for the club this weekend because he has not yet received a work permit.
Motaung added that Dax was currently suffering from a minor injury concern and even if he had a work permit he would have been rested in order for the injury to heal properly.
Kaizer Chiefs signed Dax earlier this season in what quickly turned into a controversial and sometimes ugly process. The player had been with Malagasy side Fosa Juniors when he was snapped up by the PSL giants.
Briefly.co.za gathered that Fosa claimed Dax was under contract until 2020, something the player always denied. The club tried to block the move and even resorted to withholding Dax’s passport and travel visa.
Kaizer Chiefs eventually managed to complete the deal although it was not completed until after the PSL season had started.
TimesLive.co.za reported that as was the case with head coach Giovanni Solinas, the club has been made to wait for the proper work permit to be issued by the government.
Dax first drew attention to himself with a stunning performance for his national side during the Cosafa Cup which was held in Polokwane earlier this year.
His performances were enough to convince Motaung to pursue his signature, this was at a time when Kaizer Chiefs were still without a coach and all new signings had been placed on ice until a coach was appointed.
The club’s supporters have been eager to see the star signing in action for the club as soon as possible and will be hoping that Dax will be able to help the side overcome a disappointing start to the 2018/19 season.
The club’s supporters have also been rocked by reports that veteran megastar Siphiwe Tshabalala will be leaving with immediate effect to take up an offer in Turkey.
