The struggle is real: Video shows non-Afrikaans pupil's struggle with 'R'

It is no secret that Afrikaans can be a difficult language for English-speaking people to learn and when a mom shared a video clip showing her daughter trying to pronounce Afrikaans words, South Africans couldn't help but giggle a bit.

Many English-speaking South Africans can relate to the girl's struggle, the Afrikaans 'R' can be a tough nut to crack.

We have to admit: the dad teaching his daughter has more patience than a lot of us as she keeps getting the pronunciations wrong, except with one word - "Roomys" (Ice cream)

How typical of a child to get a word like that right!

Another thing the girl struggles with is the double "o" sound, but we'll confess that she sounds adorable when she fails to say it right. She gets an A for effort though.

The video has been seen by thousands of South Africans and the comments are rolling in:

Kerryn Du Plessis - This is hilarious! This is me and my 8 year old. Drives me nuts!
Kiesha Webber - Lmao funniest cutest thing ever
Gail Le Roux - Claire I nearly spat my breakfast all over the counter.... but she tries so hard.. well done baby girl.
Tony Sutter - That's hilarious. Well done guys, keep it up.
