With so many bad things going on in the world, it is inspiring to hear a story of a single act of kindness- and one police officer's story proves there is still hope for humanity.
Argentine Police Officer Celeste Ayala made headlines recently because of her act of kindness towards a crying, malnourished little baby.
Ayala was on duty at the Sor María Ludovica children’s hospital near Buenos Aires when she noticed a small boy crying.
The baby, who was taken away from his mom, was severely malnourished and hospital staff had a tough time tending to him because they were reportedly overloaded with work.
So, the police officer, who recently had a baby of her own, offered to take the baby boy and breastfeed him.
According to HuffPost, the child stopped crying almost immediately after Ayala started to feed him.
A photo of her gesture was shared on Facebook by one of her friends, and it has since taken social media by storm.
In fact, Briefly.co.za gathered the image even led to Ayala getting a promotion. Cristian Ritondo, the minister of security of Buenos Aires province, wanted to show their appreciation for Ayala's kind act and they did it by promoting her from officer to sergeant.
