Malesiba Mabitsela took the risk of quitting her job to start her own business and it paid off- today she is a successful entrepreneur.
Mabitsela left behind financial security when she quit her job and used her R50k savings to start her own egg business.
Luckily she managed to get a partner, who had land available and the due officially launched the Egg House last year.
"The egg business is very lucrative; we are doing so well that we are thinking of expanding our business model,” she explained.
Mabitsela currently owns 200 chickens, which provide the Egg House with more or less 188 eggs per day.
Mabitsela walked TimesLIVE through her day- she said she starts at 08:00 by feeding the chickens, then goes on to collect eggs twice a day, mid-morning and again in the afternoon.
Briefly.co.za learned the entrepreneur takes the health of her chickens very seriously and they conduct routine checkups to make sure the animals are getting enough water and are not sick.
As for her future plans, Mabitsela said she wanted to grow her business and be able to help her community.
She added her dream would be to be in a position where she could financially assist agriculture students.
