- Gogo Nontsuku Nxina's name means "many days"
- She has indeed lived many days, thus living up to her name's meaning
- She turned 100 years old earlier in August
A great-grandmother from Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, has truly lived up to her name after turning 100 year old on 10 August.
Gogo Nontsuku Nxina's name means "many days," Briefly.co.za gathered. At such an advanced age, she has indeed seen many days.
Human Heart Organisation, a nonprofit organisation in her locality, organised a surprise birthday party for her last week, Daily Sun reports.
A proud Gogo Nontsuku said she still feels strong and healthy despite her high blood pressure and diabetes. She attributed her long life to respect for her elders.
She admonished the younger generation for being disrespectful of their elders and for succumbing to alcoholism, drugs abuse, and teenage pregnancies.
Gogo Nontsuku has a large offspring of nine children, 37 grandchildren, and many more great-grandchildren.
One of her grandsons, 28-year-old Zolani Timi, hailed her as a role model. He said she still remains physically active even at her advanced age.
Recently, Briefly.co.za reported how another gogo, Nowayilesi Cila, turned 100 years old in the same month and year as the late Nelson Mandela.
