Business tycoon Zunaid Moti has been arrested on 19 August and is being detained in Germany. The controversial businessman is being held on allegations of fraud.
The allegations were made by a member of the Russian Mafia and the Russian authorities issued a red notice in January. These notices are made when authorities can't arrest someone who has fled their country.
Moti, along with his father Abbas Aboo Baker Moti and two business associates are accused of defrauding a business partner out of about R6 million.
The two partners are Salim Bobat and Ashruf Kaka and the alleged defrauding happened in 2013, in Lebanon.
SowetanLIVE reports that the red issues were issued in several countries that includes Zimbabwe, the UK, South Africa and Switzerland.
Briefly.co.za gathered that no court date has been set for Moti yet.
