Child kidnappings are a scary reality in South African. Although there are mixed reports on the statistics of how many children are kidnapped every day, the simple truth is that even one child a day is one child too many.

According to a report by News24, a child goes missing in South Africa every 9 hours.

With that terrifying information in the back of their minds, a crime watch group recently shared a warning with their members after a little boy was almost ripped right from his dad's arms.

Here's the warning, and everyone is urged to take it to heart. While the incident happened in East London, parents all across South Africa should be careful and vigilant.

East London.. Be careful out there:
Post from Crime Spotter group - Been reported to SAP
An attempt was made to grab Marcus, our 3 year old grandson from his dads arms this morning near the Spar in Griffen Road. A group of men approached Brandon and tried to grab Marcus. Brandon screamed for help and put up a brave fight. People came to his help and these bastards fled. Thanks to everyone that helped and please be wide awake with your kids. Keep them safe and do not let them out of your sight. We live in a very sick country.
