Billiat is rumoured to be the highest paid player in the local league and according to Solinas, Billiat deserves that accolade.

Briefly.co.za gathered that Billiat once again proved an invaluable member of the team during this past weekend’s MTN8 semi-final clash against SuperSport United.

Billiat scored his team’s opening goal and assisted his striking partner Leonardo Castro in scoring a crucial second goal which saw the match end in a 2-2 draw.

Sport24.com reported that Solinas said he was pleased with his side’s attacking capability and with the performance of both of his strikers. The Italian-born coach said Billiat had grown in stature since joining the team and was growing in confidence with each goal that he scored.

Solinas said the match was very much a match of two parts. He said his players lacked spark and bravery during the first half and looked like they were scared to play.

He praised how the team played in the second half and said all the players had shown a vast improvement over that which the put in during the first 45 minutes of the match.

Solinas said his players had changed their mental approach in the second half and proven to themselves what they are capable of when they play without fear.

Solinas might be full of praise for his attack but he has been less than impressed with the defensive play of his side and has pointed to this aspect as being a weakness.

The club has made a raft of signings in recent weeks aimed at bolstering the defence and midfield.
