Kaizer Chiefs head coach Giovanni Solinas has revealed the struggles and funny side of being unable to pronounce Andriamirado Andrianarimanana’s full name. Solinas said he would not even attempt to learn the proper way to say the name and would call his new player Dax or Adria.

Solinas, an Italian by birth, joked that by the time he had said the tongue-twister of a name correctly an entire game of football would have been completed.

The Madagascan Andrianarimanana is better known to his friends, supporters and former teammates as Dax. He joined Kaizer Chiefs after a long and often ugly transfer battle from his former side Fosa Juniors.

Briefly.co.za gathered that Solinas who sometimes struggles with English was honest about the difficulty he had with Dax’s full names. He said not only were his first and last names incredibly long but they were also very difficult.

Solinas said the names were incredible, but personally, he would never be able to say them correctly.

TimesLive.co.za reported that the remark drew chuckles and laughter from the gathered media. Solinas proved that he was not all doom and gloom and had a lighter more likeable side than he has shown up to now.

The meeting quickly returned to a somewhat more serious note when Solinas outlined his plans for Dax. Solinas said Dax was an incredible central midfielder who had the ability to play from box to box.

Dax was signed prior to Solinas joining the club but the coach is still more than happy to have a player of such calibre in his squad. Solinas said Dax would add a lot of value to the midfield.

Dax is still unable to make his debut for the PSL giants because he has not received his work permit. Solinas confirmed that the club was still waiting for an update from the relevant government department regarding the paperwork.
