Video shows a giggling Bobani testing out Trollip's former chair in mayor's office

The seat in the Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB) mayor's office is not even cold yet following Atul Trollip's ousting and Mongameli Bobani already made himself at home- and, he is loving every moment of it.

The Citizen reported United Democratic Movement’s Bobani officially took over as mayor of the NMB after a motion of no confidence left Trollip without a job.

The new mayor gloated as he took a spin in the mayor's seat- literally! Video footage was shared on Twitter, which showed a giggling Bobani spinning around in his new chair.

The clip was shared on Twitter by Athi Plaatjie, along with the caption: "Mongameli Bobani seated at the #Nmb mayoral office. Ousted Executive Mayor @AtholT belongings have been removed. #NMBCouncil #NMBCouncilVote @AlgoaFMNews" gathered the video sparked mixed reactions from social media users, many of whom felt he was acting very childish.

Skhumbuzo Vilakazi, who goes by the Twitter handle @sdvilakazi, wrote: "He is acting very childish. It's like a man who got employed after years of being unemployed."
Social media @mix_upchick added, "Eish...shouldnt he be working? Rather playing with his chair. Strict Empty desk policy?"

However, some tweeps were happy for Bobani and wished him good luck.
