They say a dog is man's best friend, and although we love our four-legged friends, they can sometimes tend to make us angry.
Take Karen Jones' dog for an example, the pup decided he wanted to chew on something so he opted for her PhD degree.
Image Jones' surprise when she got home to find the degree, which she worked so hard for, shredded in tiny pieces on the ground.
The Interdisciplinary researcher took to Twitter to share a photo of what's left of her PhD, and her caption cracked tweeps up.
"Forget the excuse of your dog eating your homework. My dog ate my PhD. #baddog #sciotothedog #Mizzou #Neuroscience," she captioned the photo.
Her post gathered a lot of attention, but tweeps poked fun at her by creating hilarious puns relating to the situation.
Bandit, who goes by the Twitter handle @GarciaWolf2430, commented: "Well now he's got a DOG-torate with his name all over it. ;3 I'll see my self out now."
Some tweeps tried to cheer Jones up by giving her ideas on what to do with the ruined PhD diploma.
Marty Olliff, @MartyOlliff, added: "Most of us put our diplomas in a frame, but this gives you an excellent opportunity to mount yours on a flagpole in your office so it looks like a battle-tattered pennant still standing after an obviously tough engagement."
