It appears it is not just white farmer who have to worry about land grabs, black farmers could fall victim to it as well.
A video surfaced on social media which allegedly showed land being illegally taken- and the owner is a black farmer.
The video allegedly shows a Pretoria land grab, where culprits are selling stands for R500 each. According to a report by AfriForum's Ian Cameron, the land belongs to a black farmer.
Cameron shared the clip on his Twitter account, captioning the post: "Pretoria #Landgrab continuing. @SAPoliceService not willing to open trespassing case. This land belongs to a black farmer and the trespassers on his land are selling stands for R500 per stand."
The footage sparked outrage amongst tweeps, whom called for the government and police to put a stop to these illegal land grabs.
Andries H Matthysen, who goes by the Twitter handle @nesyhttam, wrote: "You see land expropriation cuts deep both ways. The principle of compensation must remain always."
Khoisan Pete, @johnpete56, added: "Is this what @MYANC and @EFFSouthAfrica is encouraging people to do? So why do they get upset when rightwing organizations propagate that #LandExpropriationWithoutCompensation is happening with the consent of the governing party - here is an example of lawlessness @CyrilRamaphosa."
