The woman who fell victim to the looting of foreign shops, which reportedly sold counterfeit and expired goods, was a mother of four kids.
Nolulama Mcwerha went to investigate a commotion outside her home on Wednesday and it was the last thing she'll ever do.
The 34-year-old mother was one of four victims to be killed during the looting of foreign shops in Gauteng townships amid rumours it sold fake and old goods.
Her husband, Peter Matjatje, said she went outside at around 11pm to see what the noise outside was, TimesLIVE reported.
The 41-year-old father of four said he could not tell his children what happened to their mom. Briefly.co.za learned Matjatje said he asked his wife's family and friends to tell the kids, aged 13‚ 11‚ eight and three, that their mommy would not be coming home.
“I asked her friends and relatives to explain to them. I am devastated," he said.
However, according to the Police, the family is yet to identify her body.
“We are waiting for her family to come forward‚” said Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini.
