Boity Thulo has come forward to apologize after she came under fire for tweets she posted in 2009 and 2010 when they resurfaced over the weekend.
The TV personality took to social media to apologize to anyone who felt offended by her tweets, saying that she was young and naïve at the time but now she has matured, and she is ashamed of the things she said.
Briefly.co.za learned that Boity is embarrassed and heartbroken to look back at the tweets but she wants her fans to know that she no longer has the same views and opinions on sexuality as she did when she was 19 years old.
TimesLIVE reports that in her tweets, she said that gay men are ‘fascinating things’ and she was tired of seeing ‘gay s***’ on TV but now she admits that her comments were tactless.
While she has apologized, tweeps have mixed feelings about the incident.
Some tweeps have accepted her apology because it happened in the past and she is not the same person as back then.
Other tweeps are still hurt by what she said and feel that it will still take some time for the wounds to heal.
