Ancestors told me to build a car, says Sibusiso Sibiya from Ekurhuleni

A 36-year-old man in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, built his own car despite not having any formal qualifications in mechanical engineering.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Sibusiso Sibiya said it all started three years ago when he had a dream. He said his ancestors asked him to build a car in the dream.

Sibusiso further claimed that the ancestors gave him a detailed guide on how to go about it, Briefly.co.za learned.

The enterprising man explained:

I did not have money, so I bought old material from scrap yards and got a few parts from my friends. I also bought a scooter engine to make the car move. When I look at it now, I am amazed I built it.

His immediate aim is to install headlights on his car, after which it will be complete.

Sibusiso welds, repairs shoes, sells vegetables for a living. He uses his car to get to his clients quickly and to take his wife on errands.

He expressed his absolute pride in his homemade vehicle:

I feel like a celebrity when I am in my car. People stop me and take photos whenever they see me in the street.
