While the spotlight has been on Bonang as she battles accusations of tax fraud, other celebrities are facing charges of tax evasion after being investigated by the Hawks.
The ‘Isidingo’ actress is currently facing charges of fraud after she failed to submit her personal tax forms and will appear in court later on this month.
SARS requested an investigation into her taxes and found that she had not submitted any of the forms between 2012 and 2017.
Spokesperson for the NPA South Gauteng, Phindi Mjonondwane confirmed that the allegations against Katlego were true and that it is only because she did not file her income tax returns on time.
The Kaizer Chiefs defender also faced charges after he failed to submit his income tax returns by the deadline.
The Hawks investigated Tau to find that he only failed to submit a form on one occasion and was taken to court in May.
Mjonondwane stated that Tau has paid an admission of guilt fine of R300 and that the case has since been closed.
The Mamelodi Sundowns star will be appearing in court for the late filing of five income tax returns between 2013 and 2017.
Sunday World has reported that Modise will be facing a fine of R1000 for each return that was submitted late.
Briefly.co.za learned that Khune has also been investigated by the Hawks on tax related charges after he failed to submit his tax returns for 2016 and 2017.
Mjonondwane has revealed that there is a case open against the goalkeeper, but he is still to have his day in court.
