- A young mother, Miracle Johnson, is in hot water with the law after she admitted to her pastor that she sold her baby
- According to Johnson, she met a woman who persuaded her to sell her only child two-weeks-ago
- The 23-year-old said she sold her baby because they were struggling financially
A Nigerian lady would be facing criminal charges after she sold her baby, Greatness, to an orphanage for N200 000, which estimates R8 110.
According to the Daily Sun, the 23-year-old first-time mother said a woman called Mama Joy convinced her to sell Greatness.
Briefly.co.za learned Johnson said her hubby could not support their small family and Mama Joy suggested she sell her baby for some extra cash.
"Mama Joy said that since my husband was not taking care of me, if I did sell the baby I could give the money to my husband to start a business or buy a motorcycle,” she explained.
So, what did she do with the money she got after selling her child? Johnson went out and bought herself a new cellphone.
But, the guilt started to eat away at Johnson and she went to speak to her pastor, to whom she admitted the entire situation.
Johnson said it was a mistake and she regretted it, adding she would never forgive herself. So, she and her hubby went to the police station to report what she had done.
Cops confirmed the report and added the young mother would soon face charges. All Johnson hopes for now is that her child would one day forgive her.
