A Nigerian lady would be facing criminal charges after she sold her baby, Greatness, to an orphanage for N200 000, which estimates R8 110.

According to the Daily Sun, the 23-year-old first-time mother said a woman called Mama Joy convinced her to sell Greatness.

Briefly.co.za learned Johnson said her hubby could not support their small family and Mama Joy suggested she sell her baby for some extra cash.

"Mama Joy said that since my husband was not taking care of me, if I did sell the baby I could give the money to my husband to start a business or buy a motorcycle,” she explained.
