A woman gave birth in the back of her husband's bakkie in the parking lot of the Netcare St Augustine's Hospital in Berea.
When Nontuthzelo Bhengu went into labour over the weekend, her anxious hubby, Philani Bhengu, drove her to the hospital to give birth.
However, she never made it passed the medical facility's parking lot, where she ended up giving birth to little Sibusisiwe Nkazimulo Bhengu.
According to TimesLIVE, Mr Bhengu was so panicked he did not know which entrance to use when he and his wife arrived at the hospital.
Paramedics then heard someone screaming for help in the parking lot, and upon investigation they found a pregnant Nontuthzelo about to give birth.
Briefly.co.za learned according to spokesperson Shawn Herbst, the new mom was in severe pain and one paramedic kept them company while the others fetched their equipment.
With the help of the medics, Nontuthzelo gave birth to Sibusisiwe in the back of the bakkie.
Both mother and baby were admitted to the hospital, but they are reportedly doing well.
