- Vusi Leremi reveals how he struggled with money before reprising his role as Clement on ‘Skeem Saam’
- His character was cut from the show in 2011
- He admits it was difficult to get back into the role, but he is thankful to have his job back
Vusi Leremi has returned to his role on Clement on SABC1’s ‘Skeem Saam’ but he is one of the lucky few who get called back after their characters have been cut from the show.
The actor appeared in the first season of the show but was forced to leave the show after the writers felt that his character no longer had a part to play in the storyline.
Many TV actors are told that their characters will make a return in later episodes, but very few producers ask them to come back.
Fortunately, this was not the case for Vusi.
Briefly.co.za learned that he was struggling financially, and the call could not have come any sooner for him.
He left the show in 2011 and had not been able to get any more acting jobs in between.
TimesLIVE reports that he was unable to afford living in Melville, so he was forced to move back to Soweto.
Vusi went on to say that it took him some time to get back into his role of Clement, but he is grateful for the friends he has made on set who helped to make the transition easier.
He also revealed that he has always battled with getting in and out of character ever since he started acting, but with practice he has managed to switch between characters with ease.
