- He plans to uplift his church and spoil his wife with the money
The winner of the recent R15million lotto jackpot, a pastor from Polokwane in Limpopo, has described his win as a "gift from God."
The 59-year-old man of God said he saw the lucky numbers in a dream and played them the following day, TimeLIVE reports.
He spent only R20 on his tickets, Briefly.co.za learned. A statement from Ithuba, the lottery operator, said the pastor intends to use part of his winnings to uplift his church.
He also wishes to spoil his spouse of many years:
I plan to spoil my wife of 20 years as a token of appreciation to her‚ for sticking by my side when the going was tough.
People used to tell her to leave me because I was broke. Today‚ I’m a millionaire!
The pastor had reportedly tried his hand at many small business ventures over the years but didn't achieve much success.
He kept playing the lotto even though he hardly ever won any substantial amounts. This was his first big win.
Ithuba's statement said the pastor is still in disbelief at his immense luck.
