Viral video shows security guards running away during armed hijacking

A video was shared on social media, which showed yet another hijacking in South Africa. However, what made the video stand out was the security guards' reaction to the crime.

While most people feel safe with security guards nearby, it does not necessarily mean they would be any help when criminals strike- they are only human after all.

A video, which was posted on social media recently, showed security guards making a run for it after armed men got out of a car during a hijacking.

The video shows hijackers ambushing an unsuspecting motorist, and after the security guards spotted the guns, they made a run for it.

According to TimesLIVE, the criminals hijacked a vehicle in Chartwell, Gauteng, while security guards were patrolling the premises.

Briefly.co.za learned the incident reportedly took place on Tuesday, 4 September.

It is not the first video to make headlines this week. Briefly.co.za reported earlier of footage that showed another cash-in-transit heist.

However, after the robbers made off with the money, residents flocked to the van to loot what was left of it- which made it nearly impossible for law authorities to gather evidence.
