Tweeps had no chill after they reacted to Markus Jooste's appearance before Parliament on Wednesday.
The former CEO of Steinhoff agreed to appear in Parliament, on one condition- they are not allowed to ask him questions that would be held against him at a later stage.
Although Parliament agreed to Jooste's terms, tweeps made no such deal and they came out guns blazing on the social media platform.
So, Briefly.co.za took a look at some reactions Jooste's appearance in Parliament gathered on Twitter.
Godfrey Albertyn, who goes by the Twitter handle @galbertyn, wrote: "#Steinhoff was run by aliens it seems. #MarkusJooste knew nothing, CFO Ben knew nothing, and it hit Dr Wiese like a bolt out of the blue."
Social media user @CowansView commented, "Basically offices from three of the big four auditors, KPMG, PWC and Deloitte all over the world audited and signed off on Steinhoff empire audits according to Markus Jooste. So - how did they miss this? #MarkusJooste."
Ferial Haffajee, @ferialhaffajee, added: "Markus Jooste is patriarchal privilege on parade at parliament. A blind man's bluff."
Geronimo (@RoQueTheNation) wrote, "Few leaders in SA respect accountability. It’s disgusting. #Steinhoff."
