- BLF wants "all the land in white hands" to be returned to black hands through expropriation
- Andile Mngxitama stated in front of the Joint Constitutional Review Committee that white people have no rights to the land they own
- This comes after Andile called the committee's reviewing process of the Constitution a farce
Andile Mngxitama, leader of Black First Land First, had his chance to address the Joint Constitutional Review Committee on Wednesday.
It was the second day of oral submissions taken by the committee about issues around land reform.
Andile said that his party supports amending the Constitution so all land that is currently in white possession can be returned to black South Africans.
He added that this includes land in Stellenbosch and Orania. Andile went on to say that the land was stolen by white people.
Andile also said that all land, whether it's being used or not, belongs to black people.
The BLF leader said this despite calling the committee's process of reviewing the Constitution as a mockery.
Andile wants land expropriation to help guarantee that al land is given back to black South Africans. He believes that white people do not have rights to the land they own.
News24 reported that Andile also said the Constitution is not good for black people and he's a "proud constitutional delinquent".
The sitting was not drama as BLF members started screaming at EFF members and were then escorted out of the Old Assembly Chamber:
