Kaizer Chiefs head coach Giovanni Solinas has urged the club’s massive fan base to remain calm as he works to turn around the fortunes of the once mighty giant. Solinas said he did not have a magic stick which would solve all the problems overnight.

His comments come as the club endures a nightmare start to the 2018/19 season. Solinas said he had only been in his role as coach for a little more than a month and a half which was not nearly enough time to address all the problems in the side.

Solinas said he was confident that the side would turn things around and would bring a lot of joy to supporters. He said, for now, it was about working hard and moving forward.

Briefly.co.za gathered that Kaizer Chiefs were dumped out of the MTN8 tournament by SuperSport United last weekend. The result comes as the once mighty club has yet to register a win in the PSL after five matches.

Kickoff.co.za reported that Kaizer Chiefs are currently languishing in 13th place on the PSL log. This has set alarm bells ringing in the ears of supporters who are desperate for the side to return to winning silverware.

Solinas said while the current results were disappointing he had faith and confidence in his squad. He said with some time and a lot of hard work the squad had the potential to start winning.

Solinas said he understood the frustration of the fans and added that he also felt disappointed by the lack of results. He tried to reassure fans by saying that he was sure the best for Kaizer Chiefs was yet to come.

The club has completed a raft of signings which Solinas is believed to have requested as he aims to rebuild the side. Solinas has already identified the team’s defending as its weakest area and has focused much of his attention on addressing any shortcomings.
