Emtee has been in the media a lot since his dramatic on stage collapse. Many different versions of the story have been told, but Emtee recently addressed the situation and set things straight.

It has been sometime since Emtee took time off to recover. He went to Bloemfontein just get some rest and sort his situation out, and now he’s back.

Briefly.co.za learnt that the rapper said that he has been “played”. He believes that the alcohol and drug abuse allegations were a plot to taint his name.

In a recent interview with Metro FM, Emtee burnt the allegations by stating that they are not true.

The rumours were pulled from Emtee “being a free spirit and being open about the things”, or so he believes. He feels that his transparency burnt him.

Emtee stated that he was feeling drained even before he performed and that is why he slept the entire trip from Johannesburg to Limpopo. Even after he woke, he still did not feel himself.

There was a lot going on and Emtee said that he ‘was overwhelmed and tired’. He is certain that he collapsed “from being pulled by the people".

Due to the fall, Emtee said that he was unconscious for a few seconds and that is why he seemed so out of it and cannot recall much.

The whole hip hop industry comes with its own set of stigmas and it is natural for people to jump to the assumption of alcohol and drug abuse.
