Actor Geoffrey Owens is best known for his role as Elvin Tibideaux in The Cosby Show. Since his days on the world-famous sitcom, things haven't been so good for Geoffrey. That was until Nicki Minaj decided to show him some love.

A while ago photos were shared and published of Geoffrey Owens bagging groceries and it led to people 'shaming' the actor.
However, shortly after the incident, rapper Nicki Minaj decided to do some good with her fortune and donate $25 000 (R377 808) to the struggling actor.
This kind act prompted other celebrities to give a helping hand as well. Director Tyler Perry to offer Geoffrey a job - which he of course accepted.
Geoffrey said he took the job packing groceries because he had bills to pay and needed a way to support his family.
I got to the point that I needed to take a job to pay my bills, to support my family, it was basically that.

Nicki said the reason she wanted to help Geoffrey was because she knew how it feels to need a job outside the entertainment industry.
"Some people are on the internet and seeking attention, and he's just the antithesis of that. So I felt like, 'Oh my God, could you imagine?'
The superstar added that she wanted to help Geoffrey any way she can.
