- Members of the ANC allegedly met up with former president Jacob Zuma in a secret meeting on Thursday
- It is rumoured the purpose of this meeting was to discuss strategies to deseat President Ramaphosa
- ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule was a prominent figure at this meeting
Everyone suspected that Zuma wants his seat back as president of South Africa and now there are rumours of secret meetings to get him back where he was a year ago.
The ruling party's Secretary-General, Ace Magashule, is allegedly part of plans to help former president Jacob Zuma overthrow current president Cyril Ramaphosa.
It is believed Magashule was part of a secret meeting on Thursday, held in a Durban Hotel. There, it is alleged, plans were made to dethrone President Ramaphosa.
TimesLIVE reports that there are photos to prove the meeting. Those caught on camera include ANC WL Secretary-General Meokgo Matuba, disgraced former North West premier Supra Mahumapelo and KZN's ANCYL secretary Thanduxolo Sabelo.
There are vehement denies about the meeting with Zuma, despite the proof of the photos. It is strongly believed that strategies were planned to challenge the national conference outcome that led to Ramaphosa's election as president.
Just the day before this secret meeting, Magashule attended another meeting. This one was in Umhlanga Rocks, in the Beverly Hills Hotel. There he met with Dudu Myeni, former SAA board chair. Apparently, Zuma was not present at this meeting.
For now, the ANC is rocked by these allegations. While it was obvious there was a divide in loyalty within the ANC's walls, it was not expected to be this strong.
