- Naledi was unharmed and underwent a full body checkup
- Nobuhe thanked her community and South Africans at large for their help and well wishes
Naledi Zondo, the teenage girl who went missing in Pietermaritzburg recently, was finally found unharmed after a four-day frantic search.
Her mom, Nobuhle Zondo, thanked her local community and South Africans at large for their help, prayers, and well wishes.
Nobuhle penned her gratitude in a heartfelt Facebook post, Briefly.co.za learned. She described her family's joy at finding Naledi as "indescribable."
Speaking to East Coast Radio, Nobuhle said a man spotted Naledi at the North Beach in Durban and immediately contacted her. She explained:
In the morning, we had given one of the guys our number and Naledi's picture. However, he saw an article in the Isolezwe newspaper. And he saw Naledi's picture.
As he was looking at the article, Naledi and this one boy walked past them. He grabbed Naledi and this boy. He then held them in place. He called us and said - where are you? Get to North Beach immediately.
Detectives took young Naledi for a full medical checkup, which revealed that she was unharmed. She is now set to start therapy to help her overcome the experience of going missing.
Nobuhle said she's spending as much time as possible with her daughter to bond with her. She added:
I want to say thank you for all your prayers, and want to say that you have shown me that when it counts, South Africa steps up to the requirements.
I love and appreciate you, and am so grateful for your prayers and your love. Naledi is ok, she is home with her mum and brother and cousin, and nothing is sweeter!
