Bheki Ntshalintshali, general secretary of Cosatu stated that they plan to discuss the recent rumours of strategies to oust President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Cosatu wants to advise the president to simply dissolve Parliament if the rumours are true.
Briefly.co.za reported earlier that members of the ANC allegedly met up with former president Jacob Zuma in a secret meeting on Thursday. It is rumoured the purpose of this meeting was to discuss strategies to deseat President Ramaphosa.
There have been a lot of opinions on the topic and South Africans have very opinionated opinions about the rumours.
Ntshalintshali also said he suspects the ANC wants to use Ramaphosa's face during 2019's elections and then get rid of him, according to a report by The Sowetan.
I think we are going to debate it in the congress. If there are plans to remove him, we will advise him to dissolve parliament. People can’t come through the back door.
The Cosatu general secretary added that if there are ANC members who want to be the next president, they should win a conference for it.
Cosatu was in favour of Ramaphosa's election to President during the ANC's national conference last year.
