It is officially Spring in South Africa, but citizens did not get what they expected. Instead of budding flowers and green grass, the country experienced another cold weekend.
The icy weekend was a result of the snowfall in certain parts of the country- yup, snowfall in spring!
Social media was flooded with breathtaking photographs of the snowfall in South Africa over the past weekend.
So, Briefly.co.za decided to take a look at some of the most awesome photos of the snow.
Some of the images were mesmerising snaps of animals in the snow. GoodThingsGuy reported Kitty Viljoen went viral with the photos she took of giraffes and elephants at the Asantasana Game Farm outside Graaff Reinet, Eastern Cape.
The photos were shared on social media by several tweeps, including @trader_ferreira.
Another tweep, @ladistardust, also shared one of Viljoen's snaps.
She captioned the post, "So this is happening near Graaff-Reinet, South Africa. Snow Giraffes Photo by Kitty Viljoen."
Viljoen was not the only one who snapped breathtaking images of the snowfall in SA over the weekend.
Other social media users also shared photos of the white scenery on Twitter.
