- Harold Ndlovu is Polokwane City's star goalkeeper
- He recently graduated with an information science degree
- He is now studying for a law degree and has his sights set on starting his own law firm
It's not all fun and games in the Premier Soccer League for Polokwane City star goalkeeper Harold Ndlovu.
27-year-old Ndlovu obtained an honours degree in Information Science from the University of Limpopo recently, TimesLIVE reports.
Briefly.co.za gathered that he now has his sights set on obtaining a law degree from the same university. This will enable him to fulfil his ambition of starting his own law firm.
In an interview, Ndlovu said soccer is a short career and not all players make millions from it. This prompted him to invest in education so he can secure his future:
I want to have my own law firm and again I’m trying to instil the mentality of making education important in my lifetime.
The talented goalkeeper said his poor upbringing is his main motivation. He recalled how he had to drop out of university to earn a living through soccer.
Fortunately, he was able to resume his studies soon after joining Polokwane City from its youth development team in 2015.
The determined Ndlovu hopes his story would inspire his fellow soccer players to also study further.
If comments from his fans on Instagram are anything to go by, he's inspiring many more youths as well.
