- Rethabile Khumalo is following in the footsteps of her famous mother
- She has just scored a contract with DJ Tira’s record label, Afrotainment Studios
- DJ Tira is excited to be working with her and can’t wait to join her on her journey to success
It takes a lot of work to run a record label, so DJ Tira always keeps his eyes out for fresh talent and Winnie Khumalo’s daughter, Rethabile is the latest artist to catch his attention.
DJ Tira has had major success on his own as he is a well-respected record producer and GQOM DJ, not to mention one of the founding figures of Afrotainment Studios.
Some of Mzansi’s most successful artists such as Distruction Boyz and Big Nuz, have gone through DJ Tira’s label and his latest addition to the Afrotainment family is Rethabile Khumalo who is the daughter of singer Winnie Khumalo.
DJ Tira is excited to see that Rethabile is following in the footsteps of her famous mother and can’t wait to help her on her way to stardom.
The music producer took to social media to announce that she is officially being signed to the label and he is eager to start working with her.
The Daily Sun reports that DJ Tira has taken many artists under his wing since he opened the label in 2005 and he is very proud of the achievements that they have all made in their careers.
Many of his artists have also gone to open their own labels and he is glad to see them helping out other musicians.
Rethabile has been trying to make a break in the industry from a young age but thankfully her hard work is finally paying off.
Briefly.co.za learned that the 22-year-old singer has auditioned for Idols SA twice but has not made it very far in the competition, but she doesn’t need the show any more after signing with one of the most powerful labels in Mzansi.
Rethabile dropped her first track as an Afrotainment artist today, entitled ‘Nomathemba’ and she can’t wait to see where her career will go from here.
