- Boity is loving her new rap career and does not intend on stopping anytime soon
- Despite the negative comments, she is happy to be trying rather than to not have tried at all
- She says that there is a lot of exciting stuff in the pipeline and she cannot wait to share it with her fans
It’s not always easy to change careers. Boity Thulo is quite aware of that, as she has had her rapping ability questioned by a few. She has extended her profession from actress and TV presenter and now includes rapper.
Her debut single, Wuv Dat, is only a taste of what is still to come. Boity said she is hoping that the second single will be out before the end of the year.
Boity said that she is big on accomplishing your dreams and that was what it was all about for her. She does not see it as her being brave, but more importantly it is so she does not have to look back at her life later on and question what if!
Briefly.co.za learnt that even though Boity’s main focus is to chase her dream, she is aware that stepping into a space that she knows will leave her vulnerable and of course there is the condemnation from others. But since she has made the move she has received love and topping the charts has been encouraging for her.
She explained that Boity is her brand name. Her brand name also has various elements such as acting, fashion and music.
Boity is also big on being herself and not to be compared to anyone else. She has been tagged as the South African version of Cardi B, but she insists that she has no aim of sounding like anyone else but Boity.
The songs she sings are her own and that is the target she is aiming for, to own the song! She is on the road and she is going to go for it and record more songs. She is not doing it just to impress others but to show people it’s real.
She wants to prove that she has not stepped into this just because she can. She respects the industry and with all the love she has received it only gives her the need to work all that harder!
