A mom in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, has given birth to five healthy babies who have been dubbed the Buthelezi quintuplets.

TimesLIVE reports that the babies have been named Siyanda, Sibahle, Simesihle, Silindile and Sindisiwe.

They were born at the Clinix Botshelong Empilweni Private Hospital. An all-South African medical team oversaw their births, Briefly.co.za gathered.

Dr. Moeng Pitsoe, who led the team, said the quintuplets have an excellent chance of survival because they are already breathing on their own.

They are also steadily growing in weight after being born at 30 weeks. Additionally, they were all born weighing over a kilogram each.

Dr Moeng said the quintuplets will be discharged from hospital once they weigh two kilograms each.
