Patient doesn't want student Dr to draw blood, because he looks like a cleaner

“My BLACK patient didn’t want me, a BLACK student, to draw blood from him today because I “look like I’m supposed to be a cleaner.”

These were the sad words of a young and aspiring student doctor earlier this week.

But, instead of fuming out the ears, and ranting on social media, this student took the high road and responded in such a beautiful manner.

Yandisa Kani wrote: “I’m just being tested on all levels today. But then again cleaners are beautiful so…”

He then left the cutest post when he was done with his shift:

The twitter streets were soon buzzing with words of encouragement for the aspiring doctor. Some even shared their stories from their student days:

Briefly.co.za discovered that Twitter celeb and influencer, Dr Sindi van Zyl, was also around to offer some words of comfort and encouragement.

She wrote: “I am so sorry Yandisa. Please make sure that you address this with the patient. It is important for you to do this. Otherwise nothing is ever going to change *hugs and lovies*”

One tweep even passed a move on the handsome student:

One thing is sure, this talented youngster learned to stand up for himself, no matter who he’s facing.
