Winnie Ntshaba learned some profound and important things when she tragically lost her mother in November last year.
Winnie, an actress on The Herd, said due to the sudden and devastating loss of her mother, she decided to re-organise her family as her number one priority.
She told TimesLIVE that at the moment, she’s being a mom and taking care of herself, as well as strengthening her relationship with God.
“After losing our mother in November last year I realised 'Winnie, you have to take care of you'. I take each day as a gift from God. I've had to really focus on it because with my mother's death it was sudden. Today she was with us then the following day she was gone just like that."
A lesson learned for Winnie was to live in the moment and try make the most of her time with those she loves.
Briefly.co.za learned she also extended this new focus on her career, and will soon be shooting MTV Shuga, while still doing the most on The Herd.
Winnie’s character on The Herd has kept SA on the edge of their seats. The actress said she enjoys making Saffas fall in love with her work.
She said: "The power to be me in all the senses. I think every person's superpower lies in really living their truth. To just do you. For the longest time I've struggled with trying to please people at the expense of my peace and my joy. When I realised it, it was a heavy wake up call... to say 'Hey, it's okay to say no, you don't have to say yes to everything'."
