A local South African actress lost her life in a car crash in Durban on Saturday. Actress Owethu Enhle Gambushe and one other young woman was involved the fatal car crash. South Africans were sorrowed by the news of the passing of such young women.
Owethu Enhle Gambushe (22) acted in the local drama Imbewu: The Seed as Nonhlanhla.
Five people in total were involved in the crash.
The crash happened in the very early hours of the morning and rescue personnel arrived on the scene at just after 1 am.
The vehicle apparently crashed into a wall after hitting a road.
The two young women passed away at the scene, according to a report IOL News.
The 47-year-old driver was arrested, according to Colonel Thembeka Mbele. It is possible the driver will be charged with culpable homicide because he was driving under the influence of intoxicating substances.
Briefly.co.za gathered the man would be appearing in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Monday 17 September.
Police are investigating the circumstances behind the crash.
