Saturday saw the historic moment when the Springboks defeated the world champs in Wellington. When that final whistle blew, South Africans were screaming their voices hoarse and scaring the neighbours. It was the first time in 9 years that SA defeated NZ in Wellington.
South Africa managed to secure a 36-34 victory over New Zealand in a most unbelievable outcome. Many South Africans thought the chance of winning the lotto was more likely than the Boks defeating the All Blacks in their home turf.
This was the All Blacks' first loss in the Rugby Championship in 3 years. They're still at the top with 2 more rounds still to play though.
New Zealand scored 6 tries and South Africa 5, and the difference in score came through 4 missed kicks at goal from Beauden Barrett while South's Handré Pollard secured 5 kicks.
South Africans took to social media to share their euphoria:
@vusumuziviviand - #NZLvRSA

I’m crying!!!!! Actual tears!!! All the emotion. All the feels right now
No more voice left.
@ChristoDuPless2 - One of the best things about being a South African rugby supporter is the Xhosa commentary. These guys have passion to burn, enjoyed that sooooo much!!! When the commentators break out in song, you know the moment is lit #NZLvRSA
Congratulations Bokke! Way to make South Africa proud.
