This year seems to be Sjava's year. After putting in the hard work, the 34-year-old muso is finally reaping the rewards. Jabulani Hadebe has come a long way since his days in KwaZulu-Natal's Bergville.
If you're anything like us, you can't get enough of this trailblazer.
So, as a little tribute to the man himself, Briefly.co.za has compiled a lost of 5 of Sjavas most epic moments.
1. Isina Muva
Sjava rose to fame after the release of his debut album, Isina Muva.
It had epic songs, like Ekuseni. Sjava was showered with positive reviews and praises. So great was his success, he won a SAMA award for best produced and a Metro FM award for the best-produced album. All this would not have been possible without Ambitiouz Records' in-house music producer, Ruff.
2. He can act too
While he complains that he wasted his time trying to get an acting career off the ground, Sjava tried his hand in acting too.
He must have been good, because he was a judge at the South African Film and Television awards.
3. Who doesn't love him?
At the age of 33, Sjava won the rising star award from DStv. This proves his music resonates with a large portion of SA.
We can't wait to see what else he has up his sleeve.
4. His fashion sense
Sjava is known for wearing traditional Zulu wear and couldn't give two hoots about what others think about it.
Sjava said he wears the traditional outfits as an ode to his mom's religion, Nazareth (Shembe).
5. He's even gone international
A few months ago, SA was bursting with pride when Sjava brought hom his BET win for Best International Artist.
The only other South African to win this award is DJ Black Coffee.
Like a true hero, Sjava dedicated his win to Bergville, his family and scores of fans.
Since his win, he's made several international appearances too.
